Introduction

Published by jennitopmiller under Uncategorized

I am a first grade teacher in a private school in San Diego, and I truly love my job. Working with kids is such a wonderful experience, you learn something new everyday! I received my Bachelors degree from University of San Diego in Elementary Education and just completed my fifth year of teaching. I just celebrated my first wedding anniversary, and am enjoying the summer going to the beach, taking classes, and teaching Kindergarten summer camp.

My experience with blogs, wikis, and podcasts is limited. I have been to many professional developments such as CUE, NECC, and iSummit where I have learned about these tools and have been taught many cool ways to integrate them. Then when I get back and into the school year I have gotten caught up in everything else and have had a hard time implementing them, but I would love to! I created a blog last semester about interesting books we were reading in the classroom, for the parents. Other than that experience I have played around in PB wiki but have never created one as my kids are so young and I had a hard time thinking of ideas.

My ideas for the final project is using the site for a classroom newsletter or paper on what we are learning in the class, ideas for the parents at home, reflections by students to books we have read which ones they enjoy and why, current events. etc.
